Presentations

Here is the schedule for the in-class presentations. Take a look at the syllabus for details on what the presentation should cover.

Remember:
  • Play only 3-4 minutes of the piece. The 3 minute limit isn't a hard-and-fast thing - make sure you play the interesting parts!
  • Time limit for the whole presentation is 10 minutes. Don't go over 10 minutes total! (This won't be a problem for most people)
  • Elaborate on a statement - don't just state something and move on! For example, don't just state that the music is "Heavy Metal-Southern Gospel-Roots music", explain WHY you think so. What musical characteristics make it so? What the heck does that music sound like?
  • Doublecheck the syllabus for the "things you need to cover" list.
  • ACT confident, even if you don't feel that way. KNOW your stuff well. DO NOT read the screen to us!
